In 2013 to honor the 4-H Canada 100 year birthday the Summerside 4-H District Council decided to introduce an award to honour our very special leaders. This award, originally sponsored by Susan and Kevin Simmons, was given the title of the Leader Centennial Award and was to be presented annually to a leader in grateful appreciation of their outstanding service to the Summerside District. When the Summerside and West Prince districts amalgamated in 2019 it was decided to continue this tradition and the award is now called the 4-H PEI Western Region Leader Centennial Award. This award is presented at our annual Leader Appreciation Banquet in April/May (date TBD).
We recognize that our Western Region 4-H volunteers contribute to the 4-H program is a variety of ways whether it be at the club, regional, and/or provincial level. Because of this there is no set criteria for the award. To nominate a leader for this award we ask only for a write up explaining why you believe the volunteer is deserving of being recognized by the region.
If you have any questions about this nomination please email Jackie at [email protected]
The nomination deadline is: March 1 and the link to the nomination form is below.
